Minecraftin'!

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 17, 2010, 9:14 AM
I spent the better portion of last night in a sweaty, belabored heap, building myself a set of stairs for a cavern I dug to take shelter in. Torches around the dig site, to keep the unruly, exploding green phallus' at bay. They weren't about to get the one-up on me again. No sir. A man's only got so much bacon available to him for healing. I'd done enough work during the day punching cows with a tree branch to merit a good nights sleep. I felt I earned it.

But in the long run, I knew. A Minecrafter's work is truly never done. :|

MINECRAFT!  (And if you do end up getting it, the The Minepedia! , an indispensable guide to crafting!)

Check out this little gem, if you haven't already heard of it. (Since by the looks of things it's already doing its rounds on the interwebs.) Being a somewhat enthusiastic proponent of indie game dev, I wasn't able to keep myself from purchasing it despite the mountain of work I have stapled to my forehead. Aaaaand I'm glad I did, haha.

It's a very, very simple game. And certainly not for everyone. If you're especially keen on space marines shooting testosterone bullets out of chainguns, you may find it lacking. But in this simplicity lies something so strangely addictive I couldn't pass up on mentioning it here.

Oh, and it's like. Thirteen bucks. A genny-wine steal, by gum!

But anyhoo, back to commissions. I'll have a round of them done this weekend for those of you waiting! And thanks for stopping by. :)

I am now building a giant Angel Island (like Sonic the Hedgehog 3) from scratch. It is built high over the ocean, it is at least 20 by 30 right now, and is covered in grass from this giant dirt stair case i made connecting it to a very small island.

I recently got done building a stone house on top of a giant tree I planted outside of my even bigger, four-plied stone and dirt house. I had a creeper blow that house up twice :c

You should build a house on top of a tree. Make it a castle or something. It's pretty boss. And then make your roof out of dirt, and plant ANOTHER tree on TOP of the house, and make a SECOND STORY HOUSEEEEEEEEE

Me and my friend have been playing together, and i made a giant tower that pierces the heavens (which is unfortunately not as high as i wanted it to be), the tower has no torches or windows in it, and the 3 floors inside of it are made of glass, so it only uses natural lighting. It also happens to be aligned perfectly with the moon/sun.

Surrounding the tower is a giant cavern with a river running through it (which i redirected, and my friend assisted with flooding), and the only way to get out of the cavern after falling in is to ride said river to a secret little exit later down.

I took down all the torches in the cavern, too.

it was fun :D

I've played that game. It's pretty entertaining. Especially the monstrous trees that sometimes occur!

I want to try this game out. I loved Alice Greenfingers *quite the time killer*, so come winter break, I think I may give it a try. :3

I'm glad I'm not the only one hopelessly addicted to this. My girlfriend and I keep seeing cubes everywhere when we close our eyes at night...
