Moving along / Music Meme.

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 26, 2008, 6:44 PM

Just did a meme to get rid of that last journal since the problem was solved. <3

Without further ado. Stole this from the delicious *kilojara16.

RULES:
1. Put Your iTunes, Windows Media Player, ETC on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
5.Put this on your journal.

1.If someone says, "Is this okay?" You say?
Menouthis - E.S. Posthumus
(Well, I am given to erupting in explosions of choir when people ask me any random question.)

2.How would you describe yourself?
Still Alive - Jonathan Coulton (Portal)
(All right, that's pretty badass. Though I'm not in possession of a lilting whimsical voice like GLaDOS'. Much to my chagrin.)

3.What do you like in a girl?
Awe of She - Guilty Gear X OST
(Haahahahahaha. Epic. Dizzy rocks. Easy on the eyes too. :eyes: Yeah, I think I'd have to marry a girl that could kick ass and look fantastic in that outfit to this song.)

4.How do you feel today?
Q11 - Tetris - Type B - Smash Brothers Brawl OST
(Apparently I'm feeling festive. 8D Btw, I LOVE this song. Both the Tetris remixes were killer. Hell the whole damn OST is.)

5.What is your life's purpose?
You Will Be My Ain True Love - Sacred Harp Singers - Liberty Church
( ._. ...wow.)

6.What is your motto?
Go to California - Rob Zombie
(When all else fails. XD Get up get down get inside the outside! Get up, get out, get in!)

7.What do your friends think of you?
Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers
(..huh. XD)

8.What do you think of your parents?
Master's Theme - Battle Arena Toshinden OST
(My folks apparently harken back to dimension destroying demon children who ride giant swords. It's pretty close actually.)

9.What do you think about very often?
The Knife of Blue Sky - Bust-a-Groove 2 OST
(Steel drums and happy chorus'? Sure, I can live with that. Ca-poe-ir-a!)

10.What is 2 + 2?
When You Were Young - The Killers
(Well, that is a question I was asked when I was very young. And one of these days, I plan on figuring out the answer, too. :|)

11.What do you think of your best friend?
Tainted Lovers - Gitaroo Man OST
(..she's gonna loooove that one.)

12.What do you think of the person you like?
Y05 - The Subspace Emissary - Battle Theme
(Well.. it.. IS a cool them. 8D;; We can make REALLY ANGRY, EPIC LOVIN' to it!)

13.What is your life story?
Party Hard - Andrew W.K.
(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA. Nooooo nooo no. :XD:)

14.What do you want to be when you grow up?
Q10 - Tetris - Type A - Smash Brothers Brawl OST
(My obsession with Tetris continues. Ever since I was a little boy I dreamed of growing up to become an L-block. And I'm halfway there.)

15.What do you think of when you see the person you like?
Highly Strung - Bond
(..that's just terrible. :XD:)

16.What will you dance to at your wedding?
I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time - Pirates of the Caribbean
("And do you, Shaun, take this woman to be your lawful wedded wife." "I do-- HOLY SH*T IT BE THE KRACKEN!! WAAAAAAAAUGH.")

17.What will they play at your funeral?
Space Monkey - Placebo
(..I have nothing to say. That's ridiculously appropriate.)

18.What is your hobby/interest?
C02 - Legend of Zelda - Main Theme - Super Smash Brothers Brawl OST
(When I'm not busy trying to smash faeries with a giant skull motif hammer, I enjoy long walks on the beach, finding/filling empty vials with a random assortment of liquids, and yanking swords from stones that severely screw with the time/space continuum AND my puberty all at once.)

19.What is your biggest fear?
Drops of Jupiter - Train
(..haha.. not funny, not funny at all. This was the song that stuck with me the longest during a vicious breakup I had about.. hell, five or six years ago. One that reeeally stung.)

20.What is your biggest secret?
Boogie for an Afternoon - Gitaroo Man OST
(That's right. My shameful little secret. I boogie. I boogie every afternoon. I'll leave it up to your imagination to determine what my grasp of the word 'boogie' means. Hurr hurr hurr. (You filthy minded buckets.)

21.What do you think of your friends?
Closer - NIN
(..:eyes: You know who you are.)

22.What will you post this as?
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
(I have no brisk witticisms for you, Motorhead. You made no sense and utterly ruined this entire meme for me, and everyone reading. Thanks a lot.)

That is all.

Problem solved(?). Thank you. XD

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 23, 2008, 8:17 AM

Hey folks. Got the new computer in. None of the old hard drive has been recovered yet, but it might still be possible once I can get the guys at work to look at it. Right now it's all about re-installing the mishmash of add-ons and accessories I had working properly. No time to celebrate unfortunately as I've already gotten complications.

I got a new version of Photoshop (CS3) and everything is seemingly fine there, but I've discovered an incredibly annoying problem with my Intuos 3 tablet.

In Photoshop, when I'm trying to make a line, there's now about a 75% chance whenever I make a stroke that the stylus will make a full dot before doing the actual line. So instead of like a thin to thick strand, I get a full thick dot, THEN a thin to thick strand. It's like it's registering that I've tapped the tablet, then began a stroke. I'd think it was my hands problem if this had never once happened before until I got the new computer/new Photoshop. (The tablet was working fine prior, even on the old computer. No weird tapping issue like this.) I have the most updated drivers too.

Before you ask, I already tried out the other stylus that came with the tablet, and it does the same exact thing, so it's not the nib. It's not the setting of the particular brush I was using in PS either, because I switched brushes a few times and all did the same thing.

If anyone could help with this problem, or has experienced it before and got rid of it somehow, please let me know. :( I would be very appreciative. I'll even do a chibi commish for free to show that appreciation if you know of a fix! Thank you!

Uh.. after doing a combination of things (uninstalling, re-installing, updating drivers, re-installing Photoshop CS, fiddling with pen tablet properties) and following some of =scrotumnose's advice, I think I nipped the problem in the bud. So far so good anyway. Thanks to all the people who replied, you guys are the best. :) I appreciate the sentiments.

G-G Contest Winner!

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 16, 2008, 3:33 PM
The winner of the G-G Illustration Contest is

:spotlight-left::iconshikakusuika::spotlight-right:

Congratulations, *ShikakuSuika !

Some quotes from the judges:

:bulletblue: "Most unique, and one of the best-executed. When selecting my favorites, I was going for something that grabbed attention, and was well-crafted, and captured personality, and above all, was creative and fun. *ShikakuSuika’s hit all of those straight on the head."

:bulletpurple:"Definitely an eye-catcher. Taking all that trouble for a synchronized kite recovery operation? How delightfully G-G. *ShikakuSuika has proven, most of all, she understands the potential for Gokiburi-gumi synergy, in a creative and ulimately ridiculously cute endeavor. Look out, SDL. If the G-G will defy gravity to get a kite back for their pretty Oya-bun, who can stand in their way?"

:bulletgreen:"I love everything about this picture, from the grand goal of retrieving a kite to each individual detail of the characters, their expressions, outfits, and overall adorability. Amazing concept, and an even more spectacular execution."

ON TO THE REWARDS!

You have won a free commission (size/complexity/scheduling/etc is up to the individual artists' discretion) from everyone you included in your picture, meaning:

G-G Illustration Contest Has Come to an End!

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 11, 2008, 4:59 AM
Hey everyone! I'll be stepping in while End sorts out the business with his computer (see [link] ), mainly to keep tabs on the hitlist and help bring the G-G Illustration Contest to a close.

Speaking of, the deadline for the G-G Illustration Contest has passed! Thank you to everyone who has participated, there's been a wonderful turnout and so many fantastic entries to choose from. Judging will likely take a few days and we thank you for your patience in the meantime :)

And, as these artists are more than deserving of recognition, here is the list of entries once more! (If you have sent a note with your entry but do not see it here, please note =Endling again with the link.):

See you folks in a few days!

Dead computer.

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 10, 2008, 8:19 AM
Hey folks.

At work right now. My PC at home died. In a very dramatic fashion, no less.

Meaning anything I didn't back up in the past month and a half or so is gone, meaning the Endzone finale amongst a ton of other things I'd been working on.

To anyone sending notes, I'm sorry if I don't respond. I won't be around for a week, two, or more, depending on when I can buy a new computer (My bank account is kind of suffering to begin with.), longer still if I attempt to have it repaired via the guys at work (Not easy to find time to fix comps during milestone periods in game development.)

I'll be having a close friend of mine run things for me while I'm gone, hopefully she'll be able to keep the G-G Illustration contest going without a hitch, as well as keep tabs on the hit list commissions for me.

I might try arranging something where I can get my chibi commissions going again in order to supplement this.

(Old standard deal, $20 chibi commishes, endrealm@yahoo.com is the paypal account.) I'll see what I can't do there via relays with my friends here or something. Mmgh.

Can't stay long, busy days at work. Doesn't help that I'm pretty bummed about losing that much art and most of my new music.

Take care guys.
