Original art auction.

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 9, 2008, 6:27 PM
In lieu of medical bills staggering enough to merit the possibility of having to leave my apartment, say goodbye to my cats, and basically bow down to the altar of the misery-gorged hellspawn sodomizer known as the american healthcare system and pray for my soul..

I'm going to be opening up several auctions on my original work in the next coming weeks.

This will include pages from:
- Everafter
- Unreleased Everafter introduction
- Living in Sin SDA Videotape Audition
- Living in Sin SDA Introduction
- Rumble in the Summer Match: Seth vs. Ree (permission pending)
- Unreleased SDL Duel: Vince vs. Mara (permission pending)
- Law of Talos intro (Lilith)
- Random concept design (Everafter, Living in Sin, Ree, etc.)
- A raffle drawing for a bundle of one of the above, possibly, once I can organize something like that. (Something along the lines of $5 'tickets' for a drawing in winning the entire Seth vs. Ree match original art or such.)

Every last cent of the money earned from this auction is going to go to medical bills. I honestly wish I could say I'd be weaseling away the cash to buy a ferrari but at the rate I'm going I'll be lucky to keep my electricity on.

Q: Just what the hell has been wrong with you Endling? We want the facts!

For those who have been asking for the nitty gritty, and I do appreciate the sizeable mountain of notes and comments and e-mails I've gotten asking about what this is..
I'd rather not talk about the exact procedure, the exact name of the disease, and nature of the illness, unless you want to hear specific details about infections, abcesses and the possibility of eroding, perforated internal organs. I think that gets the idea across. I don't know. It feels awkward.

Suffice to say, if I don't have it done.. well, never mind that, I don't have a choice. I don't mean to overdramatize the point. I'm just being honest, folks. None of it ever sounds too 'serious' via an internet journal, but there you have it.
My doctors have told me they realize the costs are going to be drastic but if I don't have this done and try to play up being a hero, I'm going to be back in the ER in a couple of months with my life on the line as opposed to just a bad section of it.
I haven't even told a lot of the folks closest to me about the severity of the problem, because. I don't operate that way. I don't have a choice anymore, and may as well have it all out there.

Q: Okay. So just how bad is this situation, outside of health?

One day in the ER ended up costing me a total of $2000. The medication I've been on to keep me stabilized until they can do the actual surgery has added up to a little less than that, around $1500 since the first visit.

The actual cost of the surgery is going to amount to much, much more than both those numbers combined.

Mind you? This is all with health insurance.

(Sidenote: I haven't for a minute forgotten about the chibi commissions. I'm still plugging away at them, time permitting. I'm sure you all understand why. Luckily with an auction, all the artwork is already done.)

Q: Stow the sob story, sicky! What do we get out of all this anyway?

I'm not asking for hand-outs. (Although I have been told by a certain someone that she has started her own effort to help this situation, offering sketches for donations and paid commission work as well. You probably know her by now: . Click that for more information.)

This is work I've made already and can part with, if you are interested. I don't know enough about selling originals to make set prices, which is why I'll be going with a sort of silent auction format here on DA. Setting dates when auctions will close and allowing anyone to peruse the work until then, sending notes for bids and having the current bid prices updating on the main journal.

Q: What about donations?

I only stress this point because so many people have actually brought it up as a suggestion, even though it grinds me something fierce to even pose it as an option. If you want to make a donation, at least get something out of it. Again, over at *Zombiesmile's page, she and a number of artists I'm ready to dub as saints are offering to give away art for folks who want to donate.
My paypal is: endrealm@yahoo.com

Q: Are you done yet?

The surgery date is the 17th. I may not be able to get all this underway until I'm out of the hospital again and on the mend, which is estimated to be about 2-3 weeks after the date. I'm going to do my best to compile the images so folks can see what there is to bid on, and hopefully have Miki oversee the actual auctions if I'm not able to come around until much later.

That's all for now. I'll have more info soon, arrangements and examples of the work I'll be selling.

Thanks for listening. This stuff hasn't been easy to talk about, by any means. But if you're still reading, you are fantastic and I love you.

Take care, you guys.

T.T

I'll pray for you, and I'm sorry that I can't buy anything.

But that would require money on my part and a long talk about lesions and internal bodily fluids >.>

I see weirdoos....
:iconmisspuzzle:
My... good luck with all that, and i'll try to bid to help you even if i'm short in money, because you're an amazing artist that i do respect, and also because you have so much courage to talk about this and doing what you do. Good luck man...

Haha, whatever.
:iconzanesama:
Best of luck to you, and I hope you have a speedy recovery, and that the operation goes well.

And as someone who also does the not-telling-their-friends-and-family when something is wrong, I'd-rather-internalize-and-not-cause-undo-worry?

Tell those closest to you. They'll appreciate knowing. You don't have to be specific, but let them know.
