Next up in the Terraria boss concepts, the Beast.

One of my favorite boss battles in recent history was with the juggernaut of Monster Hunter Tri, Jhen Moran. And I always loved the idea of having to actually 'board' a creature in order to defeat it. Hence the Beast!

Definitely an endgame scenario. Not only do you have to worry about him submerging into lava while you're on top of him, his magma rock attacks, and the attacks of the imps he summons (with a terrible screech) around him, but you can't even hurt the damn thing until you open up a section of its body with a pick. (And only Nightmare or above works.)

The rewards, of course, would have to be very high. I thought an Obsidian armor set would look very neat, but the real prize would be crafting a scythe weapon.

Yes, yes. Scythes are one of the most impractical, overused, cliché not-even-really-a-weapons of all time. And you know what. I freaking love 'em. So DEAL I SAY, DEAL.

Here's How I think it would go health wise.

4/4 Ledge-Head Version (music pick off its Armour to damage)
3/4 Abomination Version( If picked off all of its obsidian Armour)
1/2 Lava-Croc Version

And perhaps he could summon a few minions Like Some mini beasts that torture people with the obsidian skin and water walking potion.

Perhaps Ledge-head would BECOME the Croc version upon reaching 10% health, making the fight harder but removing his armor-block nature? And maybe adding a core to it in the raining lava?

i would think that the disgusting grub would be the easy mode and the ledge head would be the hard mode but anyways NEW WATCHER!!!

id prefer the lava croc to be hard mode, the disgusting grub to be norm and the ledge head to go away, not that it doesn't look cool i just dont see how standing the back of something where the only challenge is mining while being shot at is too much of a boss fight, lava crock will now spit lava at you and spawn mini versions of itself, the beast shouldn't be that powerful as its not too unique nor looks that powerful, but your tundrantula idea was amazing
