Terraria Boss - The Beast. by Endling Terraria Boss - The Beast. by Endling
Next up in the Terraria boss concepts, the Beast.

One of my favorite boss battles in recent history was with the juggernaut of Monster Hunter Tri, Jhen Moran. And I always loved the idea of having to actually 'board' a creature in order to defeat it. Hence the Beast!

Definitely an endgame scenario. Not only do you have to worry about him submerging into lava while you're on top of him, his magma rock attacks, and the attacks of the imps he summons (with a terrible screech) around him, but you can't even hurt the damn thing until you open up a section of its body with a pick. (And only Nightmare or above works.)

The rewards, of course, would have to be very high. I thought an Obsidian armor set would look very neat, but the real prize would be crafting a scythe weapon.

Yes, yes. Scythes are one of the most impractical, overused, cliché not-even-really-a-weapons of all time. And you know what. I freaking love 'em. So DEAL I SAY, DEAL.

Man... Your Terraria boss concepts are very appealing to me!

I really wish they did exist, Since "The Beast" reminds me of Jan Mohran from MH Tri (Yes, I am a very Avid Monster hunter pro) And I'd like to really love to ride on that bad boys back and mine to get any viable weak points to come up!
I am a new fan and I was so impressed by how this looks I actually thought I somehow missed a boss when playing terraria and this was fanart.

Maybe it cold be a three-phase boss.
With the Grub form first, the Ledgehead next, and the Lava Croc last
Obsidian Scythe? Meet the Death Sickle.
"Lava-treading boots"? It's like you looked into the future and saw the Lava Waders....
Love the concept! each one is intimidating and disturbing in its own way! There should be a mod to put this in the game!

To make it a little more disturbing and have a shout out to ancient literature, maybe the "beast" could be modeled after the beast from hell in the Bible.

It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.

Imagine if each bead was a grotesque boss! They'd each have slightly different tricks to killing them, but they'd all revolve around the same theme: finding a certain weak spot.
The advantage to this is that you don't have to pick and choose which one you want--horned beast, lava-croc, grub monster! Compromise? To Heaven with compromise, 'cause we ain't havin' none of that in Hell!

I think that it should have a "bait- thing" on its back and you can summon him by mining the "bait- thing".

If Fire Imps are anymore troublesome and annoying than Snow Flinxes, then I'm in for hell...

That would be an awesome boss.

It's weird, but Hell is a really bad neighborhood to make a house in.
